King Abdulaziz Convention Center Auditorium
Bespoke geometric acoustics tailored to a warm climate
Within the same King Abdulaziz Convention Center campus, this medium auditorium called for its own distinct architectural acoustic design, planned and delivered in full by Acoustic Design.
The brief asked for a considered, high-specification interior that would read as premium and contemporary while resolving strong acoustic performance across the room.
Custom geometric acoustic panels were specified throughout, with bespoke radiused wood-edge profiles at every module joint adding a distinctive, refined detail to the panel layout. The rear wall was treated differently again, with a dedicated timber lath system engineered specifically to increase absorption where it was most needed. Carpet and seating finishes were chosen with the region's warm climate in mind, selected to sit in harmony with the timber tones used throughout.
The result is a 700-seat auditorium with a coherent, climate-considered material palette and a level of joinery detail — particularly at the panel edges — that sets it apart within the wider convention centre.
