A bespoke timber concept rooted in İnegöl's furniture heritage

İnegöl is widely regarded as Turkey's centre of timber and furniture manufacturing, and this college's conference hall was conceived as a deliberate reflection of that local identity rather than a standard acoustic fit-out.

Rather than specifying standard acoustic timber panelling, the brief called for a bespoke concept built around three-dimensional timber forms and a rare veneer finish, giving the hall a material character specific to its location.

Custom RGB LED lighting was set into the three-dimensional timber forms, allowing the hall to be shifted between a range of creative ambiences for different events. The original pitched roof form was retained to maximise ceiling height, with ventilation ductwork routed along both side walls to keep the volume open rather than compressing it.

The result is a 330-seat hall whose timber detailing speaks directly to İnegöl's craft identity, combined with lighting that keeps the space adaptable for a wide range of uses.
